  From here we dropped down to the Pariah River and
followed it to Cottonwood Creek. Hiking up Cottonwood, following
cattle trails across stream meanders, got us back to Gertie (Vanagon).

We popped Gertie's top and relaxed for the night
across the Cottonwood Canyon road from the trailhead.
Picturesque despite power lines.
