Hiking above a road, we saw hamlets nestled in the trees.
It seemed pretty damp and we had the warning about heavy rains, from the guy at the Rifugio, lurking in our minds. The last section of the Alta Via 2 sounded high and exposed. Making our way across the top of Val Canzoi, we found Bivacco Feltre.
Inside were two of our Isreali friends cooking up some lunch. Also there were two Italians we had seen but not met at Rifugio Cereda. The Israelis were continuing on after lunch but the Italian hikers were heading out, having taken the warnings of really bad weather to heart. Alberto convinced us that the final ridge walking would be really nasty if not indeed dangerous. They had found lodging down in Val Canzoi and even a promise of restaurant food close by.
We decided to head on down.
Blue sky tease.

A rainy view from Casa Boz.
After waiting with Alberto & Emanuele for someone to show up and let us in, we finally had a roof for the night. Since the place had looked deserted and there was no phone service, the prospect for a long walk loomed. Erica did arrive for a happy ending.

Erica and her friend drove us all here - and back again - in pouring rain. Sooo glad we didn't have to walk the couple miles there - and back.
